Sliver of Sunshine

Hello, my name is Hallie Lobaugh, and I am passionate about providing caregivers with young children a supportive community. I have extensive experience working with children ranging from infants to elementary students, and I hold Montessori diplomas for both Infant/Toddler (ages 0-3) and Lower Elementary (ages 6-9) programs. When I had my twins, I decided to pursue the Infant/Toddler program in order to create a Montessori environment in my own home. However, at the time, I lacked the opportunity to learn from others that were trying to implement Montessori philosophies in their homes, although I did have a playgroup that played a vital role in shaping my parenting journey.

I believe that everyone deserves the same level of Montessori support and guidance that I wished for, with the additional benefit of a child-centered environment. Sliver of Sunshine Montessori Playgroup fosters acceptance, exploration, independence, fun, love, and observation. Each child is given the freedom to choose their activities and can opt to work independently or alongside others. Caregivers actively participate and observe their child's progress. Together, we form a community where we are all excited to gather and grow.

Ages walking to 36 months

Toddlers are immersed in an environment that is meant for them. The works on the shelves are geared toward their age group. Through observation and conversation with the caregivers, items offered reflect the specific needs of the children enrolled. Adults will find the room welcoming and a place for them to observe, meet other caregivers, and offered guidance by Hallie, the Montessori guide. We form a community together that may extend outside the classroom. Weekly articles are offered and new sign ups receive an observation journal and a Montessori Toddler book.

Time: 9:30 - 11 am

Class limit: 5 families

June 3 - June 24

Ages: 10 months - 24 months
